Quincy Williams has been a consummate professional since being picked up by the New York Jets off waivers back in 2021.

The former Murray State linebacker has grown into an All-Pro on and off the field since he arrived in Florham Park, NJ.

Now, thanks to his incredible efforts off the field, he is being nominated for the biggest award of his life.

Williams has been announced as the Jets’ nominee for the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award on Thursday morning. Each team puts forth a single player for the award that honors those “who excel on the field and demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact beyond the game.”

Williams has done exactly that with the Jets in 2025.

The 29-year-old created a free football camp at Miles College, invited five children who fought cancer to take part as honorary captains at the Jets Crucial Catch game, and consistently assists at Alzheimer’s Diversity Outreach Services.

“Being nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is an incredible honor,” Williams said in a statement via the organization’s website. “I’m grateful to the Jets organization and everyone in the community who has supported me. Giving back and making a difference off the field means just as much to me as playing on Sundays. I hope my work inspires others to help lift up those around them and create lasting change together.”

The winner of the coveted award will be announced at the NFL Honors on February 5th, just days before Super Bowl LX.
