The Breece Hall situation remains the biggest storyline around the New York Jets.

Will the Jets place a transition or franchise tag on Hall? Will they sign him to an extension? Or will they let him walk in free agency?

If the Jets ultimately decide to let Hall leave, they will find themselves in need of a new starting running back.

It’s a hole that New York could fill in free agency. However, most of the top options on the market don’t hold a candle to Hall. Should the Jets pass on the free agent running back market, they may find themselves entering the draft with a huge need at the position.

In that case… could Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love enter the conversation for New York?

Love, who is still only 20 years old, finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting for the Fighting Irish this past season. In 12 games, he racked up 1,372 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns, along with 280 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The junior averaged 6.9 yards per rush attempt and 10.4 yards per reception.

The Jets will certainly not consider Love with the second overall pick, but if the positional value of the running back spot causes him to drop to No. 16, could the Jets be enticed to scoop him up?
