The New York Jets and their fans feared the worst when Breece Hall went down with a non-contact injury after catching a pass during Monday’s training camp practice.

On Tuesday, though, head coach Aaron Glenn shared a promising update regarding the running back’s recovery.

“Breece and Mykal [Walker], Breece with the groin, Mykal with the calf, both of those guys will be out 2-3 weeks, so those guys will be ready for the regular season.”

Nursing a groin injury, Hall will be sidelined for 2-3 weeks, but Glenn confirmed that Hall will be ready for the team’s season opener against the Tennessee Titans, which will be played in just under four weeks.

Alongside Hall, Glenn updated the status of linebacker Mykal Walker, who will also be out 2-3 weeks as he deals with a calf issue. Walker is competing against Francisco Mauigoa and Marcelino McCrary-Ball for positioning in the Jets’ linebacker room and on special teams.

Jets fans can breathe a sigh of relief about the offense’s workhorse. Hall will certainly miss the rest of the preseason, and likely all remaining training camp practices, but he should be good to go in time for the opener in Nashville. His health coming off the injury will be something to monitor, but in a best-case scenario, Hall should have multiple weeks at full strength before the season kicks off.

The good news for Hall is that he already got a chance to shake some rust off, logging four carries for 16 yards in the Jets’ preseason opener.
