During an appearance on ESPN’s “Manningcast,” New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke about his goals in recovery

Aaron Rodgers is slowly working toward his ultimate goal.

Appearing on ESPN’s “Manningcast” for Monday night’s Vikings-49ers game, the New York Jets’ quarterback spoke about the end goal for his recovery and whether he will reach it this season.

“I’ve had a couple of injuries over the years. And I think for me, you always have to set a goal. Otherwise, you kind of go crazy. The goal is definitely to come back,” said Rodgers.

“There’s a lot of factors that go into that. I gotta get to a point where I can protect myself and do what I do. To me, throwing on the field was a way to feel normal.”

Later in the broadcast, Rodgers invited co-host of the “Manningcast” and former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning to have a catch with him on the field before the Jets-Giants game.

In his last few media appearances, Rodgers has been adamant about achieving his goal of playing again in the 2023-24 season. Despite this, the quarterback has mentioned that there are multiple factors at play and hurdles to pass before he is fully ready to be back on the field.

With this in mind, one can assume Rodgers’s best shot to come back would be late in the season or the playoffs, due to his desire not to rush his recovery. This would mean that the Jets need to achieve a high level of success in the back part of their schedule.

If the team can continue to build off the level of play they showed in the first part of the season, Rodgers will have a good chance to make his goal happen. Time will only tell if that ends up becoming the Jets’ reality this season.
