Malik Nabers’ film is too good for NY Jets not to attempt trade-up

Malik Nabers is great enough to warrant an aggressive pursuit from the New York Jets

Brock Bowers. Taliese Fuaga. Olu Fashanu. Look around Jets Twitter, and most of the debates are centered around prospects like these – guys who are likely to be available at No. 10.

But the Jets’ options do not have to be limited to those players.

Blewett’s Blitz draft film reviews:

In the 2021 and 2022 drafts, Joe Douglas showed he is willing to trade up to get a prospect he wants. He moved up nine spots to nab Alijah Vera-Tucker in 2021’s first round. In 2022, Douglas executed two trade-ups within the top 40 picks. He moved up nine spots to get back into the first round and grab Jermaine Johnson, and on the second day, he leaped two spots to jump the Giants for Breece Hall.

All three trade-ups seem to be working out. Vera-Tucker, Johnson, and Hall are cornerstone pieces for the Jets going into 2024.

That brings us to LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.

Nabers is widely viewed as the second-best non-quarterback prospect in the 2024 draft class, trailing only Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. on many big boards. However, there are rumblings that he could slip into the back half of the top 10 – leaving him in the perfect range for the Jets to trade up and get him.

Would that be worth the cost for the Jets? Or should they stay put and take their favorite prospect at No. 10?

After thoroughly reviewing Nabers’ college film, I think it’s clear – trading up for him is a no-brainer for the Jets if the opportunity presents itself.

In the newest Blewett’s Blitz film review, we dive into Nabers’ highly impressive LSU film. Plus, a full scouting report of Nabers’ strengths and weaknesses can be found at the bottom of this page.
