The New York Jets’ kicker competition is down to two: Younghoe Koo and Cade York.
According to Brian Costello of The New York Post, the Jets have waived kicker Lenny Krieg alongside injured linebacker/special teamer Kobe King.
Krieg, 23, signed a futures deal with the Jets in January.
In 2025, he entered the league through the NFL’s International Pathway Program as a native of Germany. While he didn’t kick in a regular-season game, he spent the season on the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad and hit a 57-yarder in the preseason.
As York worked through a groin injury that kept him sidelined during last Thursdayโs OTA practice open to the media, Younghoe Koo and Lenny Krieg battled head-to-head for reps. According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, Koo converted all three of his field goal attempts, while Krieg finished 2 of 4.
The Jets claimed King off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings ahead of Week 10 last season. While he only played three defensive snaps last year, he made a difference on special teams, posting a 76.0 special teams grade from Pro Football Focus during his time with Gang Green.
To fill the roster spots, New York signed wide receiver Da’Quan Felton and linebacker Chase Wilson, per Costello.
As an undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech, Felton signed with the New York Giants last year. However, he didn’t make their final roster and was released with an undisclosed injury designation. The 25-year-old played in one preseason game for Big Blue last year and wasn’t targeted.
At 6-foot-4 and 213 pounds, Felton ran a 4.50-second forty-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine. Ultimately, he projects as a camp body in the team’s WR room.
Wilson is the second tryout player from rookie minicamp to join the Jets’ 90-man roster alongside fellow linebacker Jaden Keller. At West Virginia last season, Wilson played in 11 games, collecting 46 combo tackles (23 solo, 4.5 for loss), 3.0 sacks, two interceptions, and two pass deflections.
Most notable among this flurry of transactions is that the Jets’ kicking competition is down to York and Koo as OTAs progress.
