Hall, 23, was designated to return to practice from the IR on Oct. 21, which means he’s been practicing with the team for over two weeks. The Virginia product has yet to see professional action thanks to a devastating ankle injury sustained a year ago in college.
With the Quincy Wilson release and Hall’s new-found availability, it appears his first game will come against a Bill Belichick-coached squad.
The Jets also announced several other transactions including the signing of Mike White to the active roster. Without Sam Darnold‘s services, White should serve as Joe Flacco‘s backup against the Pats.
The two promoted practice squad players this week will be tight end Ross Travis and defensive lineman Tanzel Smart. Travis will fill in for tight end/fullback Trevon Wesco, who heads to injured reserve.
Something to keep an eye on will be Adam Gase’s personnel deployment this week. Wesco is the team’s de facto fullback. Without him, will the Jets lean on newcomer Travis or another tight end in the backfield, or will the offense roll with single-back sets exclusively?
Kickoff from MetLife Stadium comes your way at 8:15 p.m. ET when the 0-8 New York Jets take on the 2-5 New England Patriots—a game your older brother from a decade ago could never imagine.
