Robert Saleh talks about Elijah Moore’s status
New York Jets rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore missed the first two games of the team’s preseason schedule with a quad injury.
Moore returned to practice on Tuesday, participating fully in scrimmage drills against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, who the Jets will see at MetLife Stadium on Friday.
It appears that Moore will indeed get some preseason reps under his belt prior to the Jets’ regular-season opener in Charlotte on September 12. When asked about whether Moore will play on Friday, head coach Robert Saleh stated, “That’s the plan.”

Quinnen Williams and Alijah Vera-Tucker suit up
Moore was not the Jets’ only prized young talent to make a full return to practice on Tuesday. Quinnen Williams and Alijah Vera-Tucker also got back into the fray.
Saleh says “it was kind of like Christmas” to have the trio of budding stars return.

Williams had been recovering from foot surgery that he underwent in May. He missed each of the team’s first two preseason games and had recently returned to practice in a limited fashion.
Vera-Tucker suffered a pectoral injury in early August that held him out of the team’s Green and White Scrimmage. It was initially listed as a day-to-day injury, but Vera-Tucker wound up missing the Jets’ preseason contests against the Giants and Packers.

Brandin Echols limped off the field after providing great coverage on a throw to Eagles wide receiver Travis Fulgham. Saleh later stated Echols landed on his hip.
Echols-Fulgham, vertical left sideline. Nice coverage. Hand on hip, eyes back to ball in good time, ball a little overthrown but still solid coverage. Echols hops up but then goes back down. Limps off the field. He sort of fell on Fulgham’s legs.

On the positive side of things, Morgan Moses and Bless Austin returned to practice after each missing the Packers game due to personal reasons.
The Jets will host the Eagles for another joint practice in Florham Park on Wednesday.
