Mekhi Becton and his girlfriend Kay revealed the gender of their incoming “Lil Ticket”
Mekhi Becton’s green future has a little bit of blue sprinkled in – but, rest assured, the New York Jets‘ MetLife Stadium co-tenants are nowhere to be found.
Becton (often referred to by his nickname “Big Ticket”) and his girlfriend Kay hosted a gender reveal party over the weekend. Under a theme of “Touchdowns or Tutus”, the festive atmosphere summited when Mekhi and Kay set off confetti cannons revealing blue contents, confirming that “Lil Ticket” will be a boy.

Kay shared the launch on her Instagram account, while Becton shared a series of photos on his own profile. Current teammates Ashtyn Davis and Brandin Echols are among those celebrating in the comments while former bearers of green like Alex Lewis and Jordan Jenkins also join in.
The couple originally announced that they were expecting on Christmas Day, when Kay was 20 weeks pregnant. He is expected to arrive this coming spring.
The news is a very strong start to Becton’s third year as an NFL veteran after he missed all but the Jets’ opening contest in Carolina due to a knee injury. His original diagnosis was a four-to-six-week absence though he wound up missing the rest of the season, preventing the 11th overall pick from the 2020 draft from building on a strong freshman campaign.
Gang Green received adequate protection help from incoming rookie Alijah Vera-Tucker at guard while George Fant took over Becton’s blindside duties and earned a breakthrough season. Morgan Moses moved to the right side to replace Fant.
The Jets are hoping that Becton will be ready for the team’s offseason workouts this spring. Becton is expected to take on a larger role in the Jets’ offensive endeavors with a new franchise quarterback and rusher in tow.
