Mile High brings back bad memories for the Jets despite the victory
Incredibly, the New York Jets are set to head back to the Denver house of horrors in 2023, the site of the loss of their two best offensive players in 2022. To shake off the horrid feeling of a promising season being flushed down the tubes, snag this excellent Caesars Sportsbook promo code worth up to $1,250 on the sportsbook app, and put it to good use, this weekend, during the ongoing NFL playoffs.
To utilize the Caesars Sportsbook promo, simply click on any of Jets X-Factor’s promo links (on this page), use promo code ESNYXLFULL, create a new account at Caesars Sportsbook, deposit some money, and make your initial bet. If your bet wins, great. If it doesn’t, Caesars will return the losses in the form of site credit (up to $1,250 per the initial bet). In addition, Caesars Sportsbooks will hook you up with an additional 1,000 in Reward and 1,000 Tier credits.
As far as the Jets are concerned, Breece Hall and Alijah Vera-Tucker will be looking for revenge against a Denver Broncos team that just went one-and-done with their head coach (who promptly interviewed for the Jets’ vacant offensive coordinator position). Although the Jets won the game 16-9, they lost the season, as their run game could never get back on track following Hall’s torn ACL and AVT’s torn triceps.
What better way to overcome the heartbreak than by betting on the Jets against the Broncos via a $1,250 Caesars NY promo code?

Jets vs. Broncos history
All time, the Broncos lead the head-to-head matchup 22-17-1, and they have won seven of the past 10 meetings. The worst of those losses was a 17-13 defeat at the hands of rookie QB (and future Jet) Tim Tebow, which ultimately vaulted the Broncos into the playoffs and could have been the game that singlehandedly knocked the Jets out.
Tebow ran for a 20-yard touchdown with 58 seconds to set the Mile High faithful in a frenzy. The play capped a six-play, 95-yard TD drive executed by the scrappy first-rounder. It was a Thursday night defeat that shocked the Jets, who fell to 5-5 on the season. They finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs after two consecutive AFC championship game appearances.
Heading back to a different championship era, the Jets and Broncos faced off in the AFC championship game back in the 1998 season. The 12-4 Jets were riding high, having secured a first-round bye and beaten the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round, 34-24.
The Broncos, meanwhile, were the defending Super Bowl champions, having won their first 13 games of the regular season and finished 14-2 overall. They also had the NFL’s MVP in Terrell Davis and the aging John Elway.
The Jets took a 10-0 lead in the game and appeared poised to secure their first Super Bowl berth in 40 years. However, the Broncos rallied back, forcing three turnovers in the fourth quarter and scoring 23 unanswered points. The Jets were left to ask “what if?”, and the Broncos went on to win their second straight Super Bowl in John Elway’s last NFL hurrah.
The Jets and Broncos face off as their respective divisions play each other in 2023. Heading out of the 2022 season, this looks like a winnable game, but as this season taught us, there’s no way to know what a matchup will look like before it actually happens.
Is Nathaniel Hackett Florham Park Bound?
On Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, former Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett came to Florham Park, NJ, to interview for the New York Jets vacant offensive coordinator position. Not only does Hackett’s name general fanbase buzz due to his less-than-stellar efforts as the Broncos head coach, but it also allows older fans to recall an offensive coordinator of Jets yesteryear.
Nathaniel is the son of former Jets OC Paul Hackett, a man who held down the job from 2001-2004, all of which happened under Herm Edwards.
Hackett, of course, was a much-maligned Jets offensive coordinator. Then again, who isn’t? The offensive play-caller is a favorite target of every NFL fanbase, especially in Jets land.
In spite of the criticism, Hackett’s offenses usually did tremendous work. In fact, the Jets have only topped Hackett’s worst DVOA (of the four seasons) just once since 2004.
For those old enough to remember, #Jets fans treated Paul Hackett as if he had a third eye growing out of his ear. And yet, his offense still ranks near the top in team history over last two decades.

Some of the positives that come from a potential Nathaniel Hackett-led offense are pretty apparent. For one, his head-coaching performance will have very little to do with his offensive coordinator candidacy.
Hackett served as the Jacksonville Jaguars OC when he helped Blake Bortles reach the AFC championship game. Hackett also served as the Green Bay Packers OC during some of Aaron Rodgers’s most productive seasons.
Naturally, the rumors that will be, “Could Aaron Rodgers force his way out in order to reunite with Hackett in New York,” would also come with the territory.
