Wilson cited the No. 1 reason that Rodgers should prefer the Jets
Seemingly everybody wants Aaron Rodgers to be the next quarterback for the New York Jets. That includes Jets rookie phenom wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Wilson has made his rounds on Radio Row at the Super Bowl in preparation for the NFL Honors ceremony, as he is an NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year finalist.
On Tuesday, when speaking on CBS’s Maggie & Perloff Show, Wilson made his pitch to Rodgers while simultaneously putting down another team that’s been connected to the future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
“I’d tell him about the influx of young talent. We have a better team than the Raiders. Go look at the rosters and how we played last year, and look at the analytics – you’ll see that we had every piece,” Wilson said. “So, you come in and we’re going to have a chance to do something special.”
Wilson is a big fan of Rodgers and has admitted as much already. When asked what he’d do if Rodgers called asking why he should come to the Jets, Wilson strayed from the conversation and chose to relish in the moment of that possibility happening.
“I’d probably have tears of joy come down. That’s one of the greatest of all time, and for him to even know my name or say he wanted to throw me the ball, I’d probably cry. That’s a GOAT,” Wilson said.
Wilson could see himself crying those tears of joy sooner than later, as the Jets continue to be connected to another No. 12 who would be hailed as a savior.
Rodgers has taken time to decide his future in the NFL going forward—which could involve finding himself landing with the NY Jets.
