Watch former NY Jets OT Willie Colon’s hilarious reaction to Zuerlein’s FG

Greg Zuerlein's game-winner against the Giants barely snuck through the upright, but like many Jets fans, Willie Colon thought it hadn't.

Willie Colon’s reaction to Greg Zuerlein’s game-winning field goal was probably echoed by many New York Jets fans

The New York Jets just pulled out a victory over the New York Giants. When they were attempting the game-winning field goal in overtime, former Jets tackle and current SNY analyst Willie Colon’s reaction showed just how close that win really was.

Zuerlein’s field goal snuck through the left upright by a matter of inches. Colon thought he had missed it.

I admit that I also thought he had missed it, as did, I’m sure, many Jets fans. Still, since I had turned on the volume for the first time all game, I heard Andrew Catalon’s call that the kick was good almost immediately after my brain registered “no good.”

In many ways, missing the field goal would have been a “Same Old Jets” moment. After Malik Taylor drew a pass interference penalty on Adoree’ Jackson on an underthrown third-and-10 pass from Zach Wilson, Robert Saleh decided to kick the field goal on first down. The reasoning for that may have had something to do with the fact that the Jets’ center was Xavier Newman, who had never played center in an NFL game and only once in the preseason and college.

Still, almost doesn’t count. Zuerlein almost missed the field goal, but he snuck it inside the upright. Between that kick and the 35-yard boot to send the game to overtime, he improved to 16-for-17 (94.1%) on field goals for the season.
