Miami Dolphins @ Kansas City Chiefs
The NFL continues its global series this week in Germany. The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off at Deutsche Bank Park at 9:30 a.m. EST. Featuring two 6-2 AFC teams, this has the potential to be one of the best games of the week.
When looking into the Miami Dolphins, I do not think they are as good as their record says they are. Their six victories have come against teams with a combined 13 wins, giving Miami a .283 strength-of-victory that ranks last in the NFL. Their two losses came to the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles and the games were not particularly close.
Miami’s offense can score with anyone, but their defense is a middle-of-the-pack unit. I think the Chiefs will be able to take advantage of them and move the ball with ease. I think the Chiefs’ defense is more than capable of slowing down the Dolphins enough for Patrick Mahomes to take over the game.
Kansas City’s defense ranks fourth-best in sacks, second in passing yards per game, and second in points per game. They are a good unit that gets overshadowed by their potent offense.
I like the Chiefs to run away with this game and show the league they are still the top dogs in the AFC.
The play: Kansas City Chiefs -1.5
Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
As good of a game as Dolphins-Chiefs should be, the Cowboys and Eagles should be every bit as good. Whenever these two teams meet, it reminds me of old-school football, where both teams hate each other.
Similar to the Dolphins, I believe the Cowboys are a tad overrated. They do not have that signature win yet against a true contender and lost outright to the Arizona Cardinals. The best team they have played this season is the 49ers and they lost 42-10. Judging by the 49ers’ play the last few weeks, that loss looks worse as time goes on.
The Philadelphia Eagles do not have any glaring holes on their roster. After acquiring Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans, this Eagles team is as stacked as it gets in the NFL on both sides of the ball.
The Eagles only being three-point favorites at home seems low to me, so I’ll take a shot at laying the points with Philadelphia.
The play: Philadelphia Eagles -3
