The Winnipeg and NY Jets harkened back to one of the most memorable WFAN moments of all time

It seems that two teams are trying to one-up the legendary New York and San Francisco Giants picnic in Totowa.

On Wednesday, a fun social media exchange between the two “Jets” franchises harkened back to one of the most memorable WFAN calls of all time.

Posting on Twitter, the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets asked the NFL’s New York Jets if they wanted to get together on Friday for dinner “since they have the same name.” They also referenced the Giants’ picnic.

The NY Jets seemingly loved the idea, responding, “And then we’ll have the Jets relay race? And the Jets raffle? Then we’ll all get together for the Jets breakfast the next morning?”

This funny exchange was inspired by a moment from Mike Francesa’s radio show on WFAN. A caller named “Dan in Walwick” asked a seemingly serious question about the NY and San Francisco Giants having a get-together.

As Dan kept asking more questions about this get-together, the legendary host became increasingly confused.

After Francesca called it “the strangest question he’d gotten in a very long time,” he dropped the legendary line about the Giants meeting up on a July weekend in Totowa.

Ultimately, it was a hilarious moment for two teams who understand the link they shared in the name and the legendary WFAN call.

Who knows, maybe the NY and Winnipeg Jets can make the meet-up in Totowa a reality all these years later.
