After the roast of the perpetual New York Jets rival, Eli Manning chimed in about his dominance over Tom Brady
One of the New York Jets’ long-time rivals took another jab from a former cross-town opponent.
In the aftermath of Tom Brady’s roast on Netflix, former Giants quarterback Eli Manning posted his own joke at the future Hall-of-Famer’s expense.
“I thought about attending the Roast of Tom Brady last night, but I did not want to Roast him for a 3rd time!!”
Manning is one of Brady’s greatest career adversaries, beating him in two Super Bowls. Most famously, Manning defeated Brady in 2007 to prevent the Patriots’ perfect season, leaving them at 18-1.
Brady had plenty of others roast him on Sunday night, from comedians like Kevin Hart and Nikki Glazer to his former head coach Bill Belichick. It was a night dedicated to grilling and jabbing at the future Hall-of-Famer in good fun.
Jets fans likely enjoyed seeing Brady roasted the entire night. Brady destroyed the Jets throughout his career, going 31-8 against New York. In the roast, Brady emphasized that point with only one of his jokes, saying that the Jets’ front office picked the lineup of comedians for the roast.
Brady’s reign of terror over the Jets coincided with the Jets’ extended streak of incompetence. On top of rarely beating Brady, the Jets could not find any sustained success and frequently underwent turnover in their coaching staff and front office.
That era is now long over. The Patriots are rebuilding, and the Jets look to be a main competitor in the AFC East. Despite that, it is always good for Jets fans to see Brady become the butt of a few jokes after years of making the Jets one.
