Yes, New York Jets fans, this guy is your left tackle
The New York Jets added plenty of notable players in the 2024 offseason, but none is more accomplished or talented than Tyron Smith. Tasked with being Aaron Rodgers’ new blindside protector, the former Cowboy is more than ready, as he is an eight-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro.
Even at 33 years old, Smith remains the gold standard at left tackle. He only allowed one sack in the 2023 regular season. Smith was named a second-team All-Pro despite missing four games.
Staying healthy is the key to Smith’s success with the Jets. When he’s on the field, though, there is little doubt that Smith will be one of the best players on the Jets, if not the best.
After thoroughly watching every game of Smith’s 2023 season for the newest Blewett’s Blitz film review, I came away with perhaps the most lopsided strengths-and-weaknesses list in Blewett’s Blitz history. In my notes, I listed a whopping 28 strengths to only seven weaknesses. If you’re a regular Blewett’s Blitz watcher/reader, you know how incredible that is.
Kick back and marvel at the Jets’ uber-talented new left tackle in this 54-play film review of Smith’s 2023 season. The review showcases just how special of a player the Jets are getting at one of the sport’s most important positions. Plus, the full list of Smith’s strengths and (very few) weaknesses can be found at the bottom of the page.
