Malachi Corley is starting to turn heads at New York Jets training camp
Training camp is finally underway and all eyes are on the New York Jets offense.
During Tuesday’s padded practice, rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley wowed teammates and coaches with an incredible toe-tapping one-handed catch along the sidelines, thrown by Aaron Rodgers. The Jets shared a video of the play via their official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Rodgers threw a touch pass over slot cornerback Michael Carter II in a place where only Corley would have a chance to make a play. Corley climbed the ladder to make the catch and did an even better job of keeping both feet in.
Corley is slowly but surely starting to turn heads. While head coach Robert Saleh said that Corley has some work to do on his route running, Corley is getting more involved in the offense and displaying flashes of his intriguing skill set.
The Jets have loaded up on talent offensively, but wide receiver is still a concern after Garrett Wilson. Mike Williams is recovering from a torn ACL while Allen Lazard’s good start to camp does little to wash away his disastrous 2023 season. This presents an opportunity and a need for Corley to immediately step up.
Corley is one of the most important X-factors for the Jets offense. With Williams sidelined, Corley has been competing for reps against players like Xavier Gipson and Malik Taylor.
The third-round pick was dubbed the “YAC King” for his success with the ball in his hands at Western Kentucky. But with plays like the one he made on Tuesday, Corley is showing that he is capable of being much more than that.
