The NFL regular season is just over a month away and the New York Jets are focusing on the hard questions, such as this: As a child, was their favorite television channel Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, or Disney Channel?

Almost every child watched at least one of these three channels in the 1990s and 2000s. Their channel preference was practically a personality test. So which did the New York Jets’ players prefer?

Before practice, the Jets’ media team asked 34 players which was their favorite as a child. The full video is here.

Here are their responses:

  • Sauce Gardner: Nickelodeon
  • Qwan’tez Stiggers: Nickelodeon
  • Jarrick Bernard-Converse: Disney
  • Breece Hall: Disney
  • D.J. Reed: Nickelodeon
  • Braelon Allen: Nickelodeon
  • Will McDonald: Nickelodeon
  • Quincy Williams: Nickelodeon
  • Allen Lazard: PBS
  • Jason Brownlee: Cartoon Network
  • Irvin Charles: Cartoon Network
  • Javon Kinlaw: Cartoon Network
  • Wes Schweitzer: Cartoon Network
  • Tanzel Smart: Disney
  • Kenny Yeboah: Disney
  • Jermaine Johnson: Cartoon Network
  • Jeremy Ruckert: Cartoon Network
  • Jamien Sherwood: Cartoon Network
  • Chuck Clark: Nickelodeon
  • Isaiah Oliver: Disney
  • Jordan Travis: Disney
  • Israel Abanikanda: Nickelodeon
  • Jaylen Key: Disney
  • Jalyn Holmes: Cartoon Network
  • C.J. Mosley: Nickelodeon
  • Robert Saleh: Cartoon Network
  • Shemar Bartholomew: Cartoon Network
  • Adrian Martinez: Cartoon Network
  • Andrew Peasley: Nickelodeon
  • Thomas Hennessy: Nickelodeon
  • Jimmy Ciarlo: Disney
  • Jarius Monroe: Cartoon Network
  • Tyler Conklin: Disney
  • Malachi Corley: All three

Several players had multiple answers or changed it, but these are roughly their final picks. The final results are as follows:

  1. Cartoon Network: 12
  2. Nickelodeon: 11
  3. Disney: 9

As a Cartoon Network fan, I’m not shocked to see it in the top spot. Nickelodeon was a close second, but SpongeBob was not enough to overcome the sheer variety of shows Cartoon Network had in its prime.
