Amidst an extremely hectic opening day of NFL free agency, we received an important piece of news regarding the 2026 draft: the official announcement of compensatory draft picks.

The New York Jets got a slight bit of bad news on this front. Per projections from Over The Cap, the Jets were expected to land four compensatory picks, but they ended up with only two.

According to the NFL, the Jets landed compensatory picks in the fourth round (140th overall) and fifth round (179th overall).

The good news, however, is that the two missing picks were projected to land in the seventh round, so it’s hardly a biggie for New York. They still landed compensatory selections in the fourth and fifth rounds, both within the top 200 slots, which gives New York plenty of extra flexibility in the upcoming draft.

While the NFL does not officially disclose its compensatory draft pick formula, it is expected that the Jets’ two compensatory picks were received in exchange for the 2025 free agency losses of cornerback D.J. Reed (fourth round) and offensive tackle Morgan Moses (fifth round).

Meanwhile, Over The Cap had expected the Jets to net seventh-round picks for the losses of defensive tackle Solomon Thomas and tight end Tyler Conklin, but that did not come to fruition.

At last, we now have the Jets’ official list of selections in the 2026 draft. The Jets have 10 selections, and here they are:
