The New York Jets thoroughly obliterated the New York Giants on both sides of the football during the teams’ joint practice in Florham Park. A big part of that was due to the secondary’s tight coverage against the Giants’ passing attack.
Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner participated in the defense’s complete lockdown of the Giants offense. When asked about what he thought of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, Gardner gave an answer (or lack thereof) in which he said a lot without saying much at all. Take a listen for yourself.

Gardner said that Jones “is a good quarterback,” but for the majority of his 44-second response, Gardner was at a loss for words. The star cornerback had a wide grin on his face and appeared to be holding back his laughter. He concluded by admitting, “I don’t even know what to say.”
New York’s two-time All-Pro is typically a consummate professional at the podium, giving business-like answers that don’t ruffle any feathers. Two weeks ago, the Jets had a similarly dominant joint practice against the Washington Commanders, and Gardner offered immense praise for Washington’s starting quarterback, rookie Jayden Daniels.
For Gardner to struggle to even come up with a cookie-cutter answer to this question is a brutal indictment on Jones, which is troubling for the Giants organization. Gardner thought so little of Jones’ performance that he could not bring himself to say a single positive thing about the sixth-year quarterback.
Fortunately for Gardner, that is the problem of a different team in New Jersey. Gardner’s franchise employs Aaron Rodgers, who sliced and diced the Giants defense with total ease throughout Thursday’s joint practice.
