After the Jets’ painful 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos, former New York Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason made a bold statement on his WFAN radio show regarding the relationship between head coach Robert Saleh and quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“I donโ€™t even think they talk to each other,” Esiason said. “I watch to try and see if thereโ€™s any interaction on the sideline; nothing. I see a guy walking right past another guy. I remember those days because I had those days with two coaches in particular, and it was because I didnโ€™t trust the guyโ€ฆI didnโ€™t think he knew what he was doing.”

“There is a major issue there. Theyโ€™ll deny it, I guarantee it. But there is an issue there because you have a 40-year-old Hall of Fame quarterback dealing with a head coach who I think he doesnโ€™t respect.”

Esiason also clarified that the Jets need to turn their undisciplined play around quickly if Saleh wants to keep his job.

“I think there is a pressure cooker here over in Florham Park,”ย Esiason said about Saleh finding himself on the hot seat. “I’m sure a lot of people over there feel it. If they continue to lose games like this and comments come out like they were yesterday, I just feel like something will have to be done if they want to save the season.”

Following a disappointing loss, the Jets have no room for error as they face a challenging stretch of games ahead. On Sunday, they will take on former Jets first-round pick Sam Darnold and the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Following that matchup, the Jets host the 3-1 division-rival Buffalo Bills for Monday Night Football before heading to Pittsburgh to face Justin Fields and the 3-1 Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
