New York Jets rookie wide receiver Malachi Corley was a healthy scratch from the team’s Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Fans were surprised to see him included on the team’s inactive list, and it seems like Corley was on the same page.
The third-round pick took to social media with a series of posts that seemed to subtly indicate his frustration with his lack of playing time in New York. On his Instagram story, Corley shared screenshots of multiple X posts that highlighted his accomplishments at Western Kentucky, alongside captions of his own that further emphasized his success.

“Second Most Broken Tackles As A Receiver In A CFB Season. Ever.” wrote Corley.
In addition to his Instagram posts, Corley also took to X to repost a series of old posts that displayed similar statistics and highlights.
The Western Kentucky product was selected by New York with the 65th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 draft. New York traded a fifth-round selection to Carolina to move up seven slots and select him. Corley was active over the Jets’ first four games of the season, but he hardly played, logging only 2 offensive snaps and 1 special teams snap.
Corley’s startling lack of involvement is surprising given the team’s immense excitement about landing him. After the draft, the team’s social media account shared a screenshot of texts between general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh, showing that the pair wanted Corley “no matter what” entering the second day of the draft. SNY later reported that the Jets had Corley as the No. 4 overall wide receiver on their big board, which is quite the endorsement considering Corley ended up being the 12th wide receiver selected.
The Jets remain in search of answers on offense after posting under 270 total yards in four of their first five games. Until they find those answers, fans will continue clamoring to see the player Douglas and Saleh were once head over heels for, and it appears Corley is just as eager to see the coaching staff make a change.
