When was the last time somebody gifted you expensive cologne and a stereo speaker in one fell swoop? Despite a very disappointing season, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers spread some holiday joy by gifting his offensive linemen several unique gifts.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, Rodgers gifted his lineman a surplus of expensive items throughout the holiday season, including a custom-tailored Tom Ford suit, Tom Ford cologne, Tom Ford sunglasses, a Louis Vuitton passport holder, stereo speaker, and a bottle of Devil River bourbon.
Rodgers’ holiday gesture stands out during a disappointing season.
Through 15 games, the Jets offensive line has allowed 33 sacks, ranking 14th in the league. With each passing game, Rodgers’s pass protection has improved in overall production—albeit not to the level the team envisioned this past summer.
Moreover, Rodgers has had a respectable season, ranking 11th in the NFL in passing yards (3,511) and eighth in touchdown passes (24). Although he’s thrown eight interceptions on the season, only one has come in the last eight games.
As the Jets limp towards the finish line, the team possesses a bleak 4-11 record with two games remaining, and the 41-year-old signal caller’s future with the team still remains uncertain.
This Sunday, the team travels to Orchard Park, New York, as 8.5-point road underdogs for a Week 17 clash against Josh Allen and the division-rival Buffalo Bills.
The team aims to finish this disappointing season on a high note as the organization faces a pivotal offseason ahead. The New York Jets are poised for a cultural overhaul while seeking new leadership with the goal to return to the playoffs for the first time in well over a decade.
