Over a week later, New York Jets fans still debate the Aaron Rodgers move.

It makes sense. After all, Mr. Rodgers is a polarizing figure by nature. Throw that into the pile of steaming stuff the Jets have been in the last 14 years, and suddenly, the polarizing opinions on the move exponentially expand.

No matter any one fan’s opinion, there’s one Jets player who’s urging Jets fans to buy into the new regime and chill out for a bit. That one player is EDGE Jermaine Johnson, who recently took to his Instagram account to send that very message.

“Tbh y’all, let’s top all the hate and buy in, even as fans,” Johnson commented. “It doesn’t help anyone being surrounded with negativity. I get it; I’ve been here three going on four seasons now, and I want change too. But you have to take what you want and make [it] happen.”

Johnson, 26, played in just two games this past season due to the season-ending Achilles injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans. It was a tremendous blow to a Jets defense that had started the season poorly.

With the dust settled on the Robert Saleh era, Johnson is apparently remaining positive and wants fans to take the same approach.

“So, I just ask as fans to just buy in and surround the team with positivity and blind faith because that’s what I’m doing,” Johnson added. “I know the negativity is coming from a place of passion for the team; I get it. I’ll do all I can on and off this field to turn things around. I know it’s New York Media and all, and it’s supposed to be tough, but let’s just buy in and say, ‘[Screw] it; it’s a new year with a new front office and coaches. Let’s go.’

“Why not? [It] can’t hurt, right? Just a thought. Love y’all.”

Naturally, the fun-loving Jets defender added to his positive comment with an IG story that revealed his 2025 season plans:

In 33 games with the New York Jets, Johnson has collected 10 sacks. 15 tackles for loss, and an interception. He’s hoping he can provide even more production for new head coach Aaron Glenn.
