The first date on the New York Jets‘ 2025 schedule has been officially revealed by the team on social media. Justin Fields and the Jets will fly to London in Week 6 and play host to the Denver Broncos.
While the Jets’ London trip was announced in January, the time and opponent are finally set. The Jets’ matchup is scheduled at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the third-largest football stadium in England.
The Jets and Broncos have squared off seven times in the last eight seasons, with Denver winning five of those matchups. The last meeting was an ugly battle in Week 4 of the 2024 season, with Denver grinding out a 10-9 victory at MetLife Stadium. This upcoming game in London will allow the Jets to even the series on an international stage.
There will be extra focus this year on the Broncos matchup. The Jets’ general manager, Darren Mougey, had been with the Broncos since 2012 prior to joining the Jets. Head coach Aaron Glenn also has a relationship with Broncos head coach Sean Payton. Glenn played under Payton in New Orleans, then returned as a coach on Payton’s staff for four seasons.
As the Jets’ new regime enters its first year, there is one question on everyone’s mind: Are these the same old Jets? That question will be answered soon enough, and the team’s Week 6 clash with Denver will be one of its earliest tests. Coming off a 10-7 season and a trip to the playoffs, the Broncos are hoping to take a step toward becoming one of the AFC’s elite teams in 2025.
The full NFL schedule is set to be officially released on Wednesday, May 14, at 8 p.m. ET. However, the league is slowly unveiling some of the standout games on the schedule. This international contest is the first and only game on the Jets’ schedule unveiled so far, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling 2025 season.
