For a team that hasn’t made a playoff appearance since 2010, the New York Jets sure tend to come up quite often in football conversations that do not involve them.

Just not for nice reasons.

New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is the latest NFL player to randomly take a jab at the Jets. The 15-year veteran and eight-time Pro Bowler snuck in a diss aimed at New York while talking about his expectations for the Saints’ 2026 season.

Asked whether New Orleans can make a deep playoff run, Jordan responded, “I hope so. Isn’t that the goal? Ain’t nobody going the whole offseason, thinking like, man, I hope we just win three games. I’ll leave that to the Jets.”

After speculation that he would retire following the 2025 season, Jordan is on track to return for a 16th season in the Big Easy. The 36-year-old can still play, as he posted 10.5 sacks in 17 starts for the Saints this past season.

Two of those sacks came in a Week 16 victory over the Jets, when Jordan’s Saints blew out New York to the tune of a 29-6 final score.

The takeaway here for New York is the same as always when a prominent figure decides to joke about them in the media. If they want to stop being the butt of the joke, they have to… win football games.

Once the Jets make a playoff appearance, their drought will be forgotten, and they will be welcomed back into the ranks of respectable NFL franchises. Until then, their 15-year hiatus remains in a class of its own, seven years behind the closest team (Atlanta Falcons, eight).
