It took Aaron Rodgers one year in Pittsburgh to double his two-year win total with the New York Jets.

In the final game of the 2025 NFL regular season, the 42-year-old quarterback watched the Ravens miss a 44-yard field goal at the buzzer, yielding a 26-24 Steelers victory, a 10-7 finish, and the AFC North title.

Rodgers completed 31 of 47 passes for 294 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions in the win.

One of the Jets’ best players took notice.

New York running back Breece Hall took to X/Twitter to say, “Ole #8 still got it lol,” followed by an emoji of covering eyes, seemingly to convey that he knows his opinion contrasts with head coach Aaron Glenn’s decision to part with the four-time MVP.

It’s an opinion that other Jets players shared at the time of the decision, including now-former Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, who tweeted (and deleted), “Another rebuild year for me, I guess.”

After the division-clinching win, Rodgers alluded to his time with the Jets in the midst of his celebration with Pittsburgh.

โ€œItโ€™s been a grinding year,” Rodgers said. “And the two years before that were tough as well.โ€

Would Rodgers have been able to save the Jets, who ended their 2025 campaign with a 3-14 record? Probably not. However, the team would have been significantly more competitive than what they showed throughout the season.

The decision to move on from Rodgers was made by head coach Aaron Glenn.

Now, as Glenn picks up the pieces from a lost year, the Jets must look on with envy as their former quarterback takes a new team to the playoffs in his first season with them.

Making matters worse, it’s clear their players were never on board with the decision to begin with.
