At this point, it may be go-kart time for Geno Smith.

It’s been revealed that the New York Jets quarterback was once again stopped by the Davie Police Department for speeding in Davie, Fla., per bodycam footage obtained by the New York Post.

Smith, 35, was first stopped by his local law enforcement department in March. It hit the sports headlines not only for a speeding citation but also for his somewhat ornery interaction with the officer, for which he suggested the officer “do his job better.”

Much like that first incident, Geno did not have photo identification for the second traffic incident, which occurred at 11:20 a.m. ET on July 6, 2026. ESPN’s Rich Cimini first noted the second speeding incident on The Jets Collective last week.

“He was pulled over for speeding a couple of days ago,” Cimini said on the latest episode with Jake Asman and Brandon Tierney. “It happened this past Monday at (about) 11:00 a.m. ET, and the police report claimed he was doing 70 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone. He was also not able to produce a license at the scene.”

โ€œAll right, sir,โ€ the policeman said to Smith, according to the video (the early July incident). โ€œBeautiful car. Seventy miles an hour, man, thatโ€™s too fast for 45.โ€

Interestingly, the 2025 silver Aston Martin he was driving belonged to a friend, even if the stop happened close to his Broward County residence. Smith also appeared to conduct himself more patiently this time around.

โ€œI live right here; my license and everything [are] in my house,โ€ Smith told the officer on the bodycam footage. … “My bad,” is how Smith nodded his way to accepting real-time responsibility.

Of course, the elephant in the room is what occurred off the roadway. Sandwiched in between both traffic stops, Geno experienced a third encounter with law enforcement officials when, in late June, he was accused of assault.

What began as a social media complaint via video โ€” one that captured Smith wisely attempting to remove himself from the tense situation โ€” is currently stuck in a wait-and-see status.

Although reports on the night of June 22, 2026, indicated there was no active and open case, as of this moment, not much is known about where things stand. All that’s known is that Geno has merely been accused of battery.

Geno Smith’s New York Jets are set to open training camp in about two weeks. The rookies will report on July 25, whereas the vets follow a few days later (July 28).
