Florham Park, N.J.โ€” New York Jets fans can breathe.

Afterย leaving practiceย with a non-contact injury, whichย Aaron Glenn later confirmedย was a groin issue, there is encouraging news as Breece Hall’s injury isn’t considered severe, per a report.

According to SNY’s Connor Hughes, “the follow-up on Breece Hallโ€™s groin confirmed the injury is minor. Theyโ€™ll be cautious with him, but itโ€™s weeks, not months.”

After receiving a pass from Geno Smith in 11v11 drills, Hall turned upfield and then went to the ground in pain. The most frightening element of it all is that it was a non-contact injury, so everyone’s mind, of course, went to the worst-case scenario.

The good news is that, according to Hughes, the injury doesn’t appear to be anything that fans should be worried about.

Given that Hughes noted the team will be “cautious,” it seems unlikely that Hall will appear in the Jets’ final two preseason games. Fellow running back Isaiah Davis is also dealing with a knee injury, providing strong opprotunites for UDFAs like Sam Scott and Chip Trayanum over the next few weeks.

Scott, in particular, stood out during Monday’s practice. Furthermore, Braelon Allen, who had a 31-yard touchdown during the team’s preseason opener on Friday night, will have an opportunity to lead the team’s backfield.

Given how packed the team’s RB room is, it is highly unlikely that Scott or Trayanum will make New York’s 53-man roster. However, a practice squad spot still seems very much in play if they finish the summer on a strong note.

For now, the Jets can breathe and let Hall take his time to get healthy.
