Zach Wilson comments on Instagram after injury announcement
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson took to Instagram to release his first public comments since leaving Sunday’s disastrous loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Wilson was forced to leave what became a 54-13 defeat after enduring two low hits that were not penalized. An MRI confirmed that Wilson sustained a sprained PCL and is projected to miss the next 2-4 weeks.
On Monday, Wilson posted a photo of himself preparing for Sunday’s game along with a promise to the Jets’ beleaguered fans.
“No choice but to come back stronger,” Wilson said in the caption, tagging the Jets’ official account. “We won’t quit.”

Jets teammate and receiver Elijah Moore is among the well-wishers in Wilson’s comment section, brandishing a flexing muscle in response.
Wilson completed six of his first ten passes before leaving, tallying 51 yards. Mike White took over for the remainder of the contest, throwing for 202 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions in his NFL debut.
Wilson’s mother Lisa revealed in her own Instagram story that she had spoken to her son and that while he is “very sad,” he has passed his injury off as “part of the game.”
The Jets’ downed franchise quarterback wasn’t the only one dispensing virtual inspiration on Monday. Carl Lawson ventured to Twitter in what well could be a message to Jets fans frustrated by the team’s 1-5 start.
Stay the course. If you're going through hell, keep going.

Lawson, a prized acquisition from this past offseason, is out for the season and is set to be joined on the list of season-long departures by rookie linebacker Jamien Sherwood.
Wilson and Lawson’s teammates will look to pick up the pieces on Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Bengals (1 p.m. ET, CBS).
