Zach Wilson, New York Jets each want to see more Elijah Moore
New York Jets rookie wideout Elijah Moore is beginning to blossom into the dangerous weapon that the team hoped he would become when it selected him with the 34th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
Moore scored his first NFL touchdown on a rush attempt in Week 7. Over the following two games, he recorded back-to-back career-highs in receiving yards, following up a 67-yard outing in Week 8 with an 84-yard outburst in Week 9. Moore added two receiving scores in the latter performance, shining amidst the darkness of the Jets’ 45-30 loss to the Colts.
The New York Jets’ Twitter account revved up the Elijah Moore hype train with a video shared on Monday, featuring multiple clips of cinematic characters professing their desire for “more” Moore.

Zach Wilson – who has been unable to enjoy the Moore resurgence due to a PCL injury that has had him sidelined since the second quarter of Week 7’s loss – agreed with the Jets’ sentiments in a responding tweet that tagged Moore’s Twitter account.
Wilson shared a clip of an AT&T commercial that made it clear: he also “wants Moore.”

Throughout his past two games, Moore has caught 13 of the 14 passes (92.9%) thrown his way for 151 yards (10.8 yards per target) and two touchdowns. Moore put up those numbers despite playing only 47% of the Jets’ offensive snaps across the two games.
Jets quarterbacks Mike White and Josh Johnson have thoroughly enjoyed throwing the ball to No. 8, earning a passer rating of 151.2 when targeting Moore from Weeks 8-9.

Wilson is aiming to resume building chemistry with Moore sooner rather than later. He is expected to return to practice this week as the Jets prepare for their Week 10 matchup with the Buffalo Bills.
Whether Wilson will start against Buffalo remains up in the air. Head coach Robert Saleh said on Monday that the team will evaluate Wilson’s physical status throughout the early portion of the week before revealing a starting quarterback on Wednesday. If Wilson cannot go, White will likely get his third consecutive start.
