New York Jets continue filling out their offensive line by acquiring another Raven
Former Ravens scout Joe Douglas wasn’t satisfied with just one Baltimore offensive lineman.
After agreeing to terms with left guard John Simpson on Monday, Douglas and the New York Jets acquired Ravens right tackle Morgan Moses in a trade on Wednesday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Jets will send over a sixth-round pick while swapping picks in the fourth round, moving down 22 spots.

With Moses and Simpson, the Jets have seemingly filled two out of the three vacancies in their starting lineup. Presumably, the line currently looks like this:
- LT: TBD
- LG: John Simpson
- C: Joe Tippmann
- RG: Alijah Vera-Tucker
- RT: Morgan Moses
Moses, 33, played one season with the Jets in 2021, playing in all 17 games for New York. After the year, Moses signed a three-year, $15 million contract with Baltimore, proceeding to start 31 games at right tackle in two seasons with the team.
The 11th-year veteran comes to New York after a 2023 season in which he thrived in both phases. Moses was one of the league’s highest-graded run blockers and also produced excellent numbers in pass protection.
Morgan Moses key 2023 pass-blocking stats (ranks out of OT with 200+ PBLK snaps)
– 5.6% pressure rate (65th percentile)
– 1.1% sack-plus-hit rate (80th percentile)
– 3.30s average time to pressure (90th percentile)Only a $5.5M cap hit this year.
Really good work here.

Ok I'm down!
Moses in 2023: 5.6% pressure rate (30th out of 83 OT), and FWIW his PFF run block grade was 10th at 77.2 (curious to see the film but he seemed to have a strong year by most accounts I've seen)
I think Jets might be looking to become a power run team. Which I love https://t.co/dBaPplMD9z

The next step for the Jets is to address the left tackle position. They could fill the spot by acquiring another veteran, such as Tyron Smith. Or, they could wait to fill the spot with their first-round draft pick, as the draft is loaded with quality offensive tackle prospects. In this case, the Jets would probably add at least one veteran backup for security prior to the draft, whether it’s via trade or free agency.
