An all-encompassing look at the New York Jets’ new playmaker off the edge
When the New York Jets lost Bryce Huff, it left a gaping hole on the edge. Joe Douglas wasted no time filling that hole, trading for former Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick.
Reddick comes to New York in possession of an active four-year streak with double-digit sacks. Since 2020, he ranks fourth in the NFL with 50.5 sacks.
However, some have claimed Reddick’s sack total paints an inaccurate picture of his real impact. After Reddick was traded to the Jets, an Eagles beat reporter stated that some Philadelphia players suspected Reddick of “chasing sacks” to earn a larger contract.
Is there any truth to that concern? And, overall, what caliber of a player are the Jets really getting in Reddick?
We answer those questions in the newest Blewett’s Blitz film review, breaking down 50 plays of All-22 film from Reddick’s 2023 season with the Eagles. The review showcases a complete synopsis of both the positives and the negatives in his game, painting a picture of what Jets fans should expect to get from him (and whether he is worth signing to a long-term contract). Plus, a scouting report of his strengths and weaknesses can be found at the bottom of the page.
