While addressing the media following the team’s 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh emphasized his deep appreciation for the team’s relentless effort, stating they continued to “battle” throughout the contest despite the loss.
“You’re always going to find silver linings after a loss. We are not ready to talk about them right now, but I do appreciate the way that our guys continued to battle,” Saleh said. “They fought throughout and gave ourselves a chance. We were right there with a chance to go score a touchdown at the end of the game to win it, and unfortunately, that didn’t happen.”

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers struggled to find his rhythm and showed inconsistency throughout the game. Rodgers completed 29 of his 54 passing attempts (53.7%) for 244 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions.
When asked about his performance, Saleh replied, “Obviously up and down. The biggest thing we talked about going into this game was playing clean ball, and Minnesota had been feasting on pick sixes and putting their offense in position to get easy layups, and unfortunately, that pick six was a big difference in the game.”
The Jets fell to 2-3 on the season and now face a crucial stretch of games, starting with a Monday Night Football showdown against the 3-2 Buffalo Bills that will determine first place in the AFC East through six weeks. This will be followed by a Sunday Night Football clash in Pittsburgh against the 3-2 Steelers and a Week 8 divisional battle in New England.
