Two franchise legends may reunite on the New York Jets’ 2025 coaching staff.
In a post on his official X account, former Jets safety Victor Green hinted at the possibility of joining the team’s coaching staff if his former teammate Aaron Glenn officially lands the head coaching job.
“Guys. So you know. I have not spoken to [Aaron Glenn] about a coaching position if [he] were to land the job,” wrote Green. “But If he [were to] ask, I will be honored and I will accept. It would be nice to help turn this thing around [with] him.”
Glenn took part in his second interview for the job today at the team’s practice facility in Florham Park, New Jersey.
Green’s words were in reply to a post suggesting he could be the Jets’ next cornerback coach if Glenn lands the head coaching job. This comes after Green endorsed Glenn for the Jets job on January 9.
“This needs to be our coach,” wrote the former undrafted free agent. “He is so real and right. A lot of coaches don’t have this mentality. And I can speak to that firsthand. Hire the man. I may come out of retirement.”
Green spent nine seasons with the Jets (1993-2001) after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent. The 11-year NFL veteran overlapped with Glenn in the green and white for eight seasons (1994-2001).
Over his tenure with the Jets, Green racked up 859 tackles and 24 interceptions. Green and Glenn are tied for fourth on the franchise’s all-time interception list.
