The national media’s lack of faith in the New York Jets extends to the video game world.

EA Sports has begun to gradually reveal its player ratings for Madden NFL 26. On Wednesday, the top 10 highest rated rookies were unveiled.

Not included among them? The seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft: Jets right tackle Armand Membou.

The Missouri product is rated lower than at least five players who were drafted later than him: Jalon Walker, Kenneth Grant, Jahdae Barron, Mykel Williams, and Maxwell Hairston.

These are the top 10 highest rated rookies in Madden NFL 26:

  3. DE Abdul Carter, New York Giants (81) – 3rd
  4. DT Mason Graham, Cleveland Browns (80) – 5th
  5. LT Will Campbell, New England Patriots (79) – 4th
  6. DE Jalon Walker, Atlanta Falcons (79) – 15th
  7. DT Kenneth Grant, Miami Dolphins (78) – 13th
  8. CB Jahdae Barron, Denver Broncos (78) – 20th
  9. DE Mykel Williams, San Francisco 49ers (78) – 11th
  10. CB Maxwell Hairston, Buffalo Bills (78) – 30th

Alongside Membou, four other top-10 picks were snubbed from the list: Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward (No. 1 pick), Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (No. 8), New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Kelvin Banks (No. 9), and Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland (No. 10).

At Jets training camp, Membou has been taking reps as the first-team right tackle. His battles with third-year edge rusher Will McDonald have generated headlines on a daily basis. McDonald, arguably the Jets’ brightest star of camp, seems to have the upper hand. But the 21-year-old rookie is improving as camp progresses.

Membou isn’t deterred by McDonald’s early dominance on the practice field. Instead, he’s relishing the chance to learn from his 10.5-sack teammate.

“Will is my biggest opp right now,” Membou said of McDonald. “Going against him is a really tough matchup, but it’s also really competitive and really fun. After practice, too, I’ll go talk to him and just ask him tips about what he sees about my game, my set and stuff. So, it’s been good work.”

Membou comes to New York with the rare combination of a dominant on-field track record and a top-tier athletic profile.

In his 2024 junior season at Missouri, Membou was one of the most unbeatable offensive tackles in the nation. According to Pro Football Focus, Membou allowed zero sacks, zero quarterback hits, and eight hurries on 411 pass-blocking snaps (12 games). He earned a 90.6 overall grade, ranking third-best among FBS tackles.

At the NFL combine, Membou wowed scouts in every drill, resulting in a Relative Athletic Score of 9.89. It was the second-best mark among offensive tackles in the 2025 draft class, marginally trailing LSU’s Will Campbell (9.91), who was drafted fourth overall by the division-rival Patriots.

Madden NFL 26 will be released on August 14, allowing bitter Jets fans to enter the game and adjust Membou’s ratings to what they believe is a more accurate representation of his ability. Because, as we all know, EA Sports hates your favorite team (no matter who you root for).
