New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn could be heard yelling at his team following a tough one-score loss to the Miami Dolphins last Monday. The coach hoped the team would come out invigorated in the very next game against Dallas.

Instead of an inspired performance, though, the Jets only showed more of the same.

Dak Prescott threw four touchdowns, and the Cowboys blew out the Jets by a 37-22 final score, dropping their record to 0-5.

New York got the scoring started on their very first drive of the game. Led by key third-down conversions from Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, the Jets went on a 13-play, 66-yard drive that resulted in a 25-yard field goal from Nick Folk.

The lead would be short-lived.

Prescott found Ryan Flournoy for 40 yards on the ensuing drive, but couldn’t lead Dallas into the end zone either. A 35-yard field goal from Brandon Aubrey tied the score at three at the end of the first quarter.

The Cowboys would get into the end zone on their very next drive. Prescott led the offense on a 13-play, 90-yard drive that was capped off with a 26-yard screen pass to Jake Ferguson and a 10-3 lead. Four third-down conversions on the drive aided Dallas.

The onslaught didn’t stop.

Breece Hall, despite recording three rushes for over 15 yards in the first half, fumbled on a carry inside the Cowboys’ 10-yard line. It was the second goal-to-go fumble that the Jets committed in as many games.

On the ensuing drive, Javonte Williams scored on a three-yard touchdown run to increase the Dallas lead to 17-3. America’s Team didn’t stop there before the half.

After a Jets three-and-out with 30 seconds remaining, a 66-yard run from Williams set up Prescott’s second touchdown of the day to Ferguson to go up 23-3.

It turned a key Week 5 contest into a laugher.

While the Cowboys were held scoreless on their first two possessions of the second half, a short fieldโ€”aided by the Jets failing to pick up a fourth-and-one at midfieldโ€”put Dallas in position to add to its lead.

Prescott found Pickens for a 43-yard deep ball two plays after the defensive stop to make it 30-3. Pickens beat Sauce Gardner on the play.

Three garbage-time scores – a 48-yard field goal from Nick Folk, a one-yard touchdown throw from Fields to Andrew Beck, and a touchdown catch from Garrett Wilson – did little to alter the outcome.

Following the loss, the 0-5 Jets will be back on the field next week for a contest in London against the Denver Broncos. Kickoff is set for 9:30 a.m. ET.

Game Notes

  • Several starters for both teams did not play on Sunday. Dallas was down four of their starting offensive linemen and their best receiver, CeeDee Lamb. The Jets, meanwhile, were without edge rusher Jermaine Johnson and starting kick returner Kene Nwangwu.
  • The Jets’ defense gave up close to 300 yards in the first half alone. As a team, they were penalized 11 times.
  • Despite the rash of injuries to Dallas’ offensive line, the Jets mustered just three quarterback hits against Prescott. The Cowboys used New York’s defensive front to control the game.
  • Thanks to the Saints’ win over the New York Giants on Sunday, the Jets actually control their own destiny for the top overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. They join the Tennessee Titans as the league’s lone winless teams, and New York has the stronger strength of schedule.
