The New York Jets enter the first weekend of December at 3-9, welcoming Tua Tagovailoa and the 5-7 Miami Dolphins to MetLife Stadium.
Record aside, the Jets have caught a little fire, winning three of their last five, including a 27-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday.
Miami has been on a similar heater, taking three straight and four of their last five.
The last time these teams met, though, the storyline was entirely different. It was Week 4 on Monday Night Football, and both teams came in at 0-3 before Miami ultimately pulled away.
Today, one of two wild streaks will snap. Tagovailoa is 6-0 against the Jets in his career. But the Dolphins have lost seven consecutive games, including the postseason, when the temperature is below 45 degrees at kickoff. Their last cold-weather win came in 2019.
Per AccuWeather, temperatures at MetLife Stadium are expected to reach a high of 44 degrees and a low of 28 this afternoon.
Less than two hours away from kickoff, here are the players who wonโt be suiting up for Gang Green this afternoon.
Jets Inactive List vs. Dolphins
- QB Justin Fields
- S Tony Adams
- TE Jelani Woods
- WR Tyler Johnson
- DT Mazi Smith
- CB Ja’Sir Taylor
- EDGE Braiden McGregor
Note: The Jets placed CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr., along with linebacker and special teams captain Marcelino McCrary-Ball, on injured reserve ahead of today’s clash.
Justin Fields, who has been managing knee soreness, will not suit up for the Jets today. Undrafted rookie Brady Cook will slide into the QB2 role for the third time this season. Safety Tony Adams will also be sidelined as he continues to battle a groin injury.
Jelani Woods, Braiden McGregor, and Mazi Smith remain healthy scratches, with Tyler Johnson and Ja’Sir Taylor joining that group for todayโs game.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, with the game airing locally on CBS. Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta will have the call.
