Now, we’re not saying this means that the New York Jets are suddenly viewed as one of the NFL’s top offensive juggernauts. It is hardly Earth-shattering praise.
Still, it’s rare to see even this much optimism about the team’s offensive weaponry.
Pro Football Focus unveiled its top 100 wide receivers in fantasy football for the 2026 season. Not only did three Jets wideouts make the list, but they are all within the top 80.
- 14. Garrett Wilson
- 52. Omar Cooper Jr.
- 79. Adonai Mitchell
Less than half of the league’s teams had at least three receivers ranked in the top 80, which is a nice distinction for a Jets team that did not have a single 400-yard receiver last year.
The projections for Cooper and Mitchell are particularly interesting. Both players’ rankings signal that they are expected to be solid contributors relative to expectations.
Cooper is a late-first round rookie, being chosen 30th overall after the Jets traded back into the first round to land him. Typically, you wouldn’t expect a rookie receiver chosen this late in the first round to have an outstanding debut season, but Cooper is in a unique situation. The openness of the Jets’ wide receiver room gives him a clear path to earning WR2 reps from Day 1.
The same logic applies to Mitchell, who is still just 23 years old after being selected in the second round of the 2024 draft. Mitchell has only picked up 56 receptions for 765 yards and two touchdowns across two NFL seasons (33 games), but his elite separation metrics suggest that he still has breakout potential. His top-80 fantasy football ranking reflects that potential.
As always, the viability of New York’s wideouts in fantasy football will come down to the quarterback position. Last year, the Jets’ wide receivers were bound to be borderline unusable in fantasy land, as the team’s starting quarterback, Justin Fields, has never averaged 200 passing yards per game in a season.
But in 2026, the Jets will be led by Geno Smith, who has averaged 238.3 passing yards per game since 2022. Over this span, Smith ranks fifth in the NFL in passing yards (15,251) and 11th in passing touchdowns (90).
The Jets are hoping there are more passing yards and touchdowns to go around this year, making their aerial threats more usable in fantasy football.
