New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers responded to Sauce Gardner’s cheesehead gambit
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has responded to Sauce Gardner after months of Sauce’s Twitter trolling, specifically regarding the now-infamous cheesehead.
Aaron Rodgers said (smiling) that @iamSauceGardner told him they’d burn the cheesehead together and then he burned it without him.

Sauce was quick on the uptake, though. First, he explained his impatience.
I’m impatient man😂 RARE Sauce L😔 But I had to do it to ensure he became a Jet❕ https://t.co/EiD14UJgWf

This offseason, Sauce tried to use the burning of the cheesehead as a lure for Aaron Rodgers to come to the Jets. (Why Rodgers would care if Sauce had a cheesehead if he was leaving the Packers remains a mystery.) He promised that if Rodgers came, the two of them would set fire to the popular fan gear together.
However, Sauce apparently couldn’t wait. He, Breece Hall, and Garrett Wilson staged a burning ceremony before Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and announced his intention to play for the Jets.
But then Sauce revealed the ace up his sleeve.
WE CAN RE-DO THE VID👀 I HAVE AN EXTRA CHEESEHEAD AT MY HOUSE, SO THE BALL IS IN HIS COURT NOW❕ https://t.co/EiD14UJgWf

Did Sauce really take more than one cheesehead, or did he purchase another one? To what lengths would he go to ostensibly keep his word?
It will be interesting to see what Rodgers’ next move is. In his introductory press conference with the Jets, he emphasized his intention to be around the full offseason program and build relationships with his teammates.
Part of those relationships may be putting up with (and… participating in?) the shenanigans of a young, talented, and trolling core.
Rodgers already took a step toward that with Zach Wilson. After liking a tweet that quoted Zach Wilson saying he would make the Jets’ new quarterback’s life “hell,” he clarified his stance.
Aaron Rodgers on Zach Wilson: “He’s going to make my life hell in practice. I’m going to make his life heaven off the field.” #Jets

It was all smiles in Florham Park today. Rodgers appears to be all-in, which is good news for the Jets and their fans.
