EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ—So far, so good, for Jeff Ulbrich’s New York Jets.
After a promising opening drive on offense that ultimately led to a 34-yard Greg Zuerlein field goal and a dominating Buffalo Bills drive capped by a Josh Allen 1-yard touchdown run, Aaron Rodgers took his team on a drive that has fans grinning from ear-to-ear.
The nine-play, 70-yard drive culminated in a 5-yard touchdown reception for Garrett Wilson, putting the Jets on top, 10-7.

Initially ruled incomplete on the field, replay assistance helped the officials right an extremely clear wrong.
Wilson, 24, showcased incredible body control in the back end of the end zone on third-and-goal.
In Downing’s first three drives as play-caller, New York put points on the board on two. Wilson is playing more in the slot, and it’s showing in the box score (four receptions for 41 yards).
The offense has also shown improvement on the ground. Breece Hall is off to a hot start, collecting 40 yards on eight carries.

At first glance, more zone-rushing concepts are being called. Better yet, Downing is calling them out of lighter packages (mainly 11 personnel).
Unfortunately for the Jets, Ulbrich’s defense has bent backward against the run. Ray Davis has 52 yards on eight carries, while former Jet Ty Johnson has 34 yards on four totes.
Buffalo’s lone touchdown came courtesy of a 1-yard Josh Allen quarterback sneak.
About midway through the second quarter, the Bills are marching down the field again. This time, Allen uses his improvisational skills to avoid a sack in the end zone to set up a monster downfield passing chunk to Davis.
