Not only are New York Jets fans expressing disappointment over the Aaron Rodgers news, but players are also. Well, at least one player has expressed his disappointment.
Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams produced two social media reactions following Jay Glazer’s monstrous report. The first was a simple thumbs-down emoji:
The second reaction dealt with the immediate idea that he’s destined to endure yet another rebuild, per his official X account:
“(It’s) another rebuild year for me, I guess,” is what Williams wrote.

Williams, 27, was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2019 NFL draft by then-general manager Mike Maccagnan. In his six seasons with the Jets, the organization has won just 32 games while dropping 68.
Meanwhile, Rodgers, 41, just produced the best quarterback season the franchise has seen since Ryan Fitzpatrick in 2015. While starting extremely slow—along with the entirety of the offense, especially the rushing attack, continuously placing them in third and longs—Rodgers picked it up later in the season, ultimately throwing for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions.
Perhaps the uptick in production dealt with Olu Fashanu’s move to left tackle. Or, maybe Rodgers felt better as the season continued, as is usually the case when an individual recovers from an Achilles.
Either way, it appears Rodgers and the Jets are heading for divorce, and at least one player has displayed disappointment.
The New York Jets currently employ veteran Tyrod Taylor, sophomore Jordan Travis, and journeyman Adrian Martinez in the quarterback room.
