In case a 37-22 home loss to the Dallas Cowboys wasn’t enough for New York Jets fans, Dallas owner Jerry Jones decided to rub it in.

A clip posted on X shows Jones smiling as he flashes his middle finger toward Jets fans from his MetLife Stadium luxury box before laughing and waving to the crowd.

The Jets’ blowout loss dropped them to 0-5 on the season, making them the only team in the league without a win thus far.

While optimism around the Jets was not through the roof entering the season, there is no way to justify the product the Jets have put on the field this season.

New York has been anything but a competitive team. The stat sheet offers a slightly kinder picture, but thatโ€™s been inflated by late-game yardage rather than sustained execution.

On paper, this roster should be performing far more respectably. Instead, the Jets have stumbled into looking like the leagueโ€™s worst team.

Rather than reshaping the franchise’s identity, the new regime has only preserved the Jets’ reputation as an easy target. When the product is this bad, itโ€™s no wonder opponents and even opposing owners feel comfortable taking their shots.

Despite the continued struggles and embarrassment, head coach Aaron Glenn insists his players are still bought in.

“I know for a fact our players are bought into what we’re doing, so that’s why I know it’s not a ‘here-we-go-again’ because every day we emphasize it,” said Glenn.

For a fan base thatโ€™s endured years of false hope and empty promises, moments like Jones’ flip-off sting because they emphasize that the Jets remain the punching bag and laughingstock of the NFL.
